Seismic behaviour assessment and rehabilitation of a masonry three‐arched bridge

چکیده

Abstract Many existing historical masonry arch bridges used in the road and railway networks are still service. However, most of them show a structural performance deficit due to several factors. This study deals with seismic behavior assessment an three‐arched bridge through nonlinear, non‐adaptive static analysis carried out by three‐dimensional Finite Element model. Input data were collected from variety sources. The showed risk index that was not compliance limit values suggested current European Standards. In order improve reliability bridge, traditional rehabilitation proposed designed. bottom faces arches piles strengthened reinforced concrete thin slabs jackets, respectively, all adequately connected structure using steel bar connectors. Finally, nonlinear new satisfied vulnerability verification. techniques appears be viable but unique solution improving reliability.

Effects of Support Conditions on Dynamic Behaviour and Seismic Response of Ghadir Bridge

There are a number of parameters influencing the dynamic and seismic response of bridges. Of these, two important parameters warranting special notice include: the properties of the neoperenes in the state of connection between girders and columns and the shear stiffness of underlying soil in the level of bridge substructure’s connectivity to the ground. In &#10this paper, the effects of these ...

Seismic and Restoration Assessment of Monumental Masonry Structures

Masonry structures are complex systems that require detailed knowledge and information regarding their response under seismic excitations. Appropriate modelling of a masonry structure is a prerequisite for a reliable earthquake-resistant design and/or assessment. However, modelling a real structure with a robust quantitative (mathematical) representation is a very difficult, complex and computa...

Seismic Vulnerability assessment of concrete railway bridge using nonlinear analyses

Bridges, as an essential part of transportation system, play a special role in economy, politic and military all around the world. Serviceability of bridges is of high importance especially in emergencies, helping injured people and proportioning transportation after earthquakes. Earthquake regulation codes, normally suggest linear methods to conduct the analysis, and nonlinear analysis is bare...

Analytical Assessment of the Behaviour of the Masonry Wall Strengthed by Steel Mesh and Shotcrete

An effective approach for strengthening masonry buildings is to apply shotcrete reinforced with mesh on the surface of the wall. It is not possible to assess the behaviour of coated walls solely using analytical approaches based on simple equations of theory of elasticity without the use of numerical methods. Unreinforcced masonry wall is modelled in this study using the finite element softwar...
